ESA /WRAG was created by Janet 55
When introducing ESA as replacement for Incapacity Benefit I believe that the DWP said that nobody transferred to IB would lose money.
My problem is that I was on put on IB at the time when any personal pension income wasn't taken into consideration. As my previous employer made me take Early Retirement on ill health grounds I was still able to claim IB despite having a pension. This has been the case through the 12 years I have been unable to work.
Now that I have been placed in the WRAG, I will only receive ESA for 365 days (contribution based) and will lose all benefit after that when it will become income based as now my pension will be included.
I asked for a reconsideration of the decision but they advised me they had decided that I should stay in the WRAG & not be moved to the Support Group I could not face appealing, though I have in the past, mainly as there would be no point as I was advised that that itself would take over a year.
I can't see how anyone will employ me, even if I could work, given my medical history & my age and the fact that I haven't worked for over 12 years now.

Sorry, I know I shouldn't just rant and should have a specific question. I just feel helpless. I have always tried to be independent since I started work after leaving school. Looks like that will come to an end soon & I don't know if there's anything I can do now despite not being well enough to work.
