WHAT IS LONG TERM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was created by moaner
Can anyone tell me what long term means to DWP. ATOS doctor advises work is unlikely in the ling term and the evidence suggests improvement unlikely in the long term. I have been put in Work Group. I am due to collect State Pension come April 2014 and wonder what long term now means for me.

Mod Edit : Edited to lower case, as some members use screen readers where block capitals can cause problems.

Hi M,

"In the longer term" is a stock phrase that is used on ESA85A or ESA85 Medical Reports by The ATOS HCP.

This is known as the prognosis, these prognoses can be 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months or "In the longer term"

On this premise, one would assume that a recommendation of "In the longer term" should give a prognosis of 2 years or more. (but don't bank on it)

The DWP Decision Maker will have put a finite period on this "In the longer term" recommendation, so you would have to contact The DWP to find out the exact length of time before you should be reassessed.

As you state that you reach SP Age in April 2014, if you have been transferred over to ESA from another benefit, this may apply to you :

Who will be transferred?
