hi all,can a wifes national insurance history help if her husbands was not right up to date,as for claiming esa. i seem to recall a husbands can help his wifes. cant find any answers,maybe someone out there could help. many thanks

I think you may still be able to do this in connection with the State Pension, but you certainly cannot do it with regard to benefits.
I believe the current tax years that will be looked at are 2010-2011 and 2011-2012, this will still be the case after 6 April as it is the two complete tax years preceding the benefit claim year.
