Private pension & ESA was created by Poppy

Hi there, I have just been awarded a private pension on ill health grounds of arond £50 p/w., which means I can no longer work in my profession. I am receiving ESA in the assessment phase and wondered if my private pension would affect if I would still be entitled to ESA contribustion based. Thanks

The first £85 per week of private pension is discounted for Contributary ESA so you should be able to keep all of yours

I think you still need to notify DWP, just to keep things straight and you would have to pay income tax if your total income exceeds the personal allowance.

It is a change of circumstances so you need to inform the DWP.

There is an £85/w disregard for pensions for claimants receiving ESA(CB), so I would not expect it to affect your payments.

O yes I would very much like to change my user name I had tried 3 times without success. I keep emailing the tec dept but nothing changes, thanks
