what is the case if you are recieving esa support group payments and also recieve a pension, i am due to get my pension in 2014 which will be about £70 a week, thanks in advance

Hi ff,
If you are in receipt of IR ESA, all of the occupational pension will be classed as household income with respect to "The Means Test".

does that mean i will lose all of my esa payments? also i am unsure if i was ever entitled to benefits, my wife works full time and earns over £30 k a year, i got worried when i read something along these lines, but i saw a message somewhere saying you are still entitled to benefits if you are classed as unfit for work, ie the support group, i also recieve dla, could you please clarify this for me, as i have been on benefits for over ten years, i am worried i may have been recieving benefits i am not entitled to, and if so what would be the concequences, could they ask me to pay it back? i have never knowingly witheld any information from the dwp

Can I just confirm, you are receiving Income Related ESA and your partner is earning 30k per year.
This being the case, then I am going to have to recommend that you immediately get face to face advice from a properly trained advisor as I believe there are serious issues with your current claim.
Try an internet search with "welfare rights" and your town or county.
I would expect your partners income to be deducted from your ESA(IR) payments and I assume that they are working more than 24 hours/week, both of these would appear to be issues.

i was originally on incapacity benefit, then transferred over to esa support group about eighteen months ago, i am in the process of being reassessed now, my questionaire was sent back in december to arrive by january 1st, i have heard nothing since, it was quick last time, from your response i feel very worried, all the time i have been on benefits my wife has worked over 24 hours a week, i have never been asked any questions by dwp regarding wifes income, what advisor should i speak to? very worried now, please try to put my mind at ease,, thanks, p.s even though i have heard nothing from dwp, i am still recieving full and normal payments
