After looking through it I am conerned as my soon to be ex husband pays mainteance for our daughter, and this is a private arrangement between us two.
Worried this may put me outside any threshold and I will not be able to claim income related ESA

I do not have savings or another partner. Its just me, my daughter who is 15 and she gets DLA and I get Disabled Tax Credit for her, and my 20 year old son who works full time.
Anyone know anything about this that could help please?

A quick search would suggest the child maintenance would have no effect on ESA(IR).
However, it may be that this private arrangement may not qualify, nor can you avoid mentioning on your ESA3 a regular payment as the DWP may be able to detect this.
The bottom line is that you need to get face to face advice from a trained advisor who can look at the situation in detail and recommend a course of action for you. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your town or county.

Thanks Gordon, I think I will ask CAB to go through the form with me.

it is both - either/or. The 24 hour rule would debar someone even if the earnings did not.

You need to bear in mind that other members look at posts and apply the answers to their own situations, also, as has been the case on several topics this week, posters do not always supply all of the information available on their initial posts, so where ever possible we provide complete answer, even though some aspects may not be relevant to the person who originally asked it.
