As I said, if it is considered relevant then complete the question and explain why, however, if I was to think of an individual with disinhibited behaviour then someone with Tourettes would be my first choice.

The claimant is non-aggressive. The word I thought about was “disinhibition”. I’ve just looked it up again and find, “In psychology, disinhibition is a lack of restraint manifested in several ways, including disregard for social conventions.” Could it be argued that the claimant is so fearful of social situations that his avoidance of the society of other people shows disregard for social situations in a way that might be considered unreasonable? Could a workplace contend with somebody hiding in a cloakroom or even just burying his head in his arms so as not to see his social environment?

'Disinhibition' also often refers to someone who does not understand social boundaries - take, for instance, someone with severe learning difficulties who want to hug and kiss everyone they meet. It also refers to people who are sexually disinhibited, I will leave that to your imagination rather than being specific!

The Claimant does not display anything like coprolalia: one possible symptom of TD. I haven’t mentioned the possiblity of completing Question 17 to the Claimant’s family and think I’ll focus my contrition of Questions 14 and 16.
Many thanks, Gordon, for all your detailed advice.

Hi Mrs HB!
I think I’ll just forget all about Question 17 without involving my imagination.
