Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I really struggle with most simple everyday living tasks, from bathing, dressing and cooking. I need help from my partner with all these. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would lose the enhanced rate of PIP and my partner would not be able to claim the carers allowance. In total. That totals £10k per year. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I genuinely can’t see any role that I would be able to manage with my multiple illnesses. I see many medical consultants who all say my conditions are complex. |
Anything else to tell us: If I were to lose my disability payments it would put a huge financial strain on our circumstances. I never asked to become ill. Life can be cruel sometimes. This new proposal is ill thought out and does not cater for somebody like myself who has multiple illnesses. From what I can deem by the current PIP descriptors, if you have upper body functionality then you would fail to score 4 points on any of them. Therefore a veteran who has lost both legs in combat but still has upper body strength would fail to score 4 points on the current PIP criteria. That in itself is unacceptable and is shameful. |
