Age: 28 |
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: I'm currently being reviewed. Depression was my main condition but it is now Fibromyalgia. |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I'm currently being reviewed. I hope so but just don't know. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I just don't have the energy for washing, dressing, going out or making food and need help to do all of these. I often need help to clean up properly after using the toilet. I often need to send emails and do calls to chase things up but I need someone with me for reassurance, help and motivation. If I do even one extra thing in a day, this means less energy for everything else. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I could lose around half of my money if found ineligible. I'm currently needing this money for taxis, online shopping orders and I'm trying to get a better wheelchair so it would have quite an impact. I'd lose my railcard too so a great loss of potential freedom. More than this, though, is the security of knowing I don't have to push myself beyond my limits. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I would have many sick days. I can't be reliable as my sleep pattern varies and energy levels go from low to non-existent. Any stress causes me a lot of pain and distress so I've no idea what I'd do if sanctioned or needing to appeal. I currently need my energy for just living- I don't have anything left for applications, extra appointments/ meetings or working. I've no clue who would hire me. |
Anything else to tell us: The hardest part is not knowing. By finding me ineligible, the government would also be making it harder for my Mum to be recognised for the support she gives me daily. She can't work either because of this and we'd all have so much more to cope with if we were expected to. |
