Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Mixing with people Communication Unable to cope with stress on a daily basis without having meltdowns Loud sensory environments cause anxiety, shutdowns, stress Unable to work due to health conditions Need help to manage medication Reminders or aid prompts to do self care tasks Find it difficult to start tasks especially cleaning |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Will lose £440 from PIP and £416 from LCWRA That’s half my income, and even less after rent. I will not be able to afford to live, to cover essentials or to be able to do things that help keep my mental and physical health stable |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Any stress causes mental health crises and chronic pain flares I get sick from small amounts of stress including from this green paper announcement Meetings can cause upset and depression episodes to the point of suicidal ideation and self harm Work caused problems last time and I’m terrified I’ll end up in hospital again if I’m forced to work. Chronic pain has got worse since the last time I worked. I don’t have enough energy to do work. |
Anything else to tell us: These cuts and reforms will severely impact people like me especially with neurodivergence, mental health and invisible pain conditions The points change is unfair Those of us who score less than 4 are still disabled, we still need help. Interventions as suggested by a Labour MP won’t cut it. We still have every day costs. PIP does more than help with support or care, it covers the costs of essentials. Limited capability to work must remain too. PIP is not about work and they are trying to tie these things together by scrapping WCA. So many people who struggle to work and then don’t qualify for benefits will then lose twice as much! |
