Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I life with early stages of severe ME/CFS. So I have little energy to do the simplest of tasks like showering, cooking, houswork, basic admin, reading, communicating. If I do engange with any of these tasks I am often left with post exertional malaise which means my symptoms get worse. I also struggle with daily pain in my fingers, arms and wrists due to Fibro. My cognitive function is very poor, leaving me often trapped in my own head. My mental health is worse because there is no cure or treatment for ME/CFS and I life in constant fear of the DWP / Universal Credit.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Difficult to answer since I life in Scotland and this survey appears to be designed only with England and Wales in mind but I thought it was important to take part. If the block grant to Scotland will be cut massively by the welfare reform the Scottish Government will have to find I think £429 million somewhere else, perhaps having to cut ADP. If I was to loose my ADP and the UC health element it would be difficult to afford alternative treatments not available on the NHS and supplements for example. I'm looking into getting care at present but I'm very worried how I would pay for that if my disability payments are cut.
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I can't work with severe ME/CFS since I spend much of my life in bed resting, don't have a fully functioning brain, I'm in pain all day every day. Work coaches are not medical professionals so have zero understanding of ME/CFS. Saying that neither do GPs.
Anything else to tell us: This welfare reform is cruel and for me it echoes attitudes of the Third Reich. We cost the Government to much money, so they want us gone. You can judge a country by the way it treats the sick and disabled. This should tell you everything you need to know about the UK at present.
