Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I could but as I’m 67 and retired and I can’t get any changes to my award I have no idea if they can take into account a worsening that scores me a 4 but keeps me at the standard award. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Dressing from the waist down (I have to use equipment) putting on coats, cardigans and shirts, taking clothes off that are tight over my head, washing my legs from the thighs down . I can’t reach my feet to care for them (and I’m diabetic) , I can’t put on my support stockings without help (I have Lymphodema), I use incontinence pads multiple times a day and need equipment to reach private areas for personal hygiene, I have to wear elasticated trousers or dresses so I can remove garments quickly otherwise I have accidents. I use a stool in the shower as I cannot stand for more than 1 minute. I have a grab rail to help me get out and in. , I wear slip on shoes, I can put on socks with equipment but not tights, I need help with that. I use equipment in the kitchen to cook , I have grabbers and I have to be seated at all times, I use a wheeled stool . My husband supervises me when I cook as I can burn myself using the oven and the top of the cooker, and I cannot lift a saucepan to drain it or a kettle to pour out of . I have grab rails at the top of the stairs to steady myself when getting on and off my stair lift. I have stools in every room and grabbers next to them so I can be zoned in areas for dressing or desk work or for putting on shoes. I have a mobility scooter and a self propelled wheelchair for outside the house. I cannot clean my house or change the linen on my bed |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £290 every 4 weeks |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I am retired. Having PIP means I am able to have the confidence and support so I can do volunteer work for my community . |
