Nickname: Redlady |
Age: 75 |
Main health condition: Physical health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: Arthritis and IBS. |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: When I first received PIP over 15 years ago, I had 4 points in one section, but no matter how you tell them your difficulties they make sure you only get 2 points. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Cooking, not able to prepare meals due to arthritis in hands, microwaves are just as difficult as ovens if you have hands that let you down. Due to IBS many extra trips to toilet, it’s a struggle to cope. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Both my husband and I are on PIP so we would lose about £150 a week. We hardly turn the heating on now, so we would never be able to turn it on, no matter how cold and damp it is, hence lots more pain. As my husband is not pension age we can’t claim pension credit. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Work at 75! Who would give me a job. |
Anything else to tell us: It’s over 10 years since I was last assessed, it’s like they don’t want to assess me again in case they have to pay me more. |
