Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Meeting people, limited literacy, very poor memory through self medicating for undiagnosed autism as a child and the severe anxiety that caused, unable to deal with change, communication difficulties, relationship difficulties, insomnia, unable to follow instructions, skin sensitivity, noise and light sensitivity creating distress, have to isolate in quiet room, unable to be among crowds or busy places unless supported by someone familiar, unable to use public transport do not understand bus timetables, unable to plan a route stay within a 3 mile radius of my home
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £520 every 4 weeks
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I tried it, they set up an interview but not face to face but to be observed working for one day. When I arrived they put me in a classroom with others to do a level 1 in watehousing. My great aunt was with me and she asked if there was learning support in the classroom, how could ai complete a level 1 qualification when my literacy and numeracy was entry level 2. I became very distressed and agitated as I was not prepared for this, the work coach did not mention about the training. I do not cope with immediate changes. My aunt who wax a post compulsory education tutor and also a tutor for adults with LD and learning difficulties removed me from the classroom and informed them they were setting me up to fail which would impact even more on my low self esterm.
Anything else to tell us: A lot of people with hidden disabilities are unable to obtain qualifications, they would not be supporyed in a working environment, there are too many hurdles for them to comply without support. It woild put me and my colleagues at risk if the same happened again to me. They are not interested in what work I would like to do they will be forcing prople to take any job whether they wete suitable or not so cuts can be made and unemployment rates go down.
