Nickname: CatherineS2
Age: 64
Main health condition: Physical health
Main conditions that affect daily living: Multiple sclerosis
Rate of PIP daily living component: Enhanced
4 point descriptor score: No
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Most unlikely
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Having had MS for 25 years, in the past 3 years my illness has rapidly progressed from relapsing-remitting to secondary progressive and I cannot now walk without the aid of 2 sticks, even in my small two bedroom flat.
One of the symptoms of MS is extreme debilitating fatigue, so whenever I try to do anything physically I have to subsequently rest for at least 30-60 minutes before resuming anything.

Nowhere on the PIP form do you get points for being unable to clean your house or do your washing, make your bed, or being unable to go shopping.
My son (who works full-time as a bus driver) and next door neighbour help me with these tasks.

I pay my cleaner £12.50 per hour and she has to do 3 hours work per week split over the 7 days, so this comes to £162.50 per month.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I currently receive disability living allowance, which will transfer to PIP at some point in the near future.
I get £73.80pw for help with personal care, so will lose £335 per month.
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: No employer would take me on because I will not be able to guarantee to be able to turn up or submit any work on a reliable basis, and working would only exacerbate my fatigue.
Also, due to numbness in my fingers I cannot write legibly or type at any reasonable speed (had to dictate this form to my son).
Anything else to tell us: I will also lose a further £72 per month:
One of the symptoms of MS is incontinence. I would not score 4 points on this because I do not soil myself because I use incontinence pants which I pay for with my DLA/PIP.
These cost 90p per boots own brand night time pads, and 75p per day.
I use one night-time and 2-3 daytime per day.
This works out at a minimum of £72 per month.
