Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle with every day to day activity due to arthritis in my lower spine, elbow and wrist after several falls, neck, hips. I have to have help with many things, and it is gradually worsening over time. I can no longer take certain meds due to being diagnosed recently with Diverticulitis, so have to manage on low dose medication which isn't helpful. I struggle with dressing, and washing, and every day home tasks like cooking, carrying things, picking up items that are anything more than light weight. I cannot bend, cannot sit long even at a dining table, cannot sit on hard seats or seats that are too soft for long. I cannot walk very far now.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would lose the daily living enhanced rate I was recently awarded with an ongoing award and this helps me to pay for help when needed when my husband is unavailable. It pays for taxi's for appointments, for someone to come and do my feet as I cannot bend to cut my toe nails, it pays for a hairdresser to come to my home, it pays for a cleaner to help with all the now difficult things I cannot do. It pays for other health treatments and vitamins to help with my condition. My life would not be worth living without all this help
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I have been unable to work for many years now due to the pain I suffer if I try and just in general day to day, in the beginning I tried with a work coach, as I loved working as a book keeper, but could not sit long enough without suffering more. I would LOVE to work, I even tried working form home but could not do so without pain increasing by sitting at a desk, I cannot stand for long either.
Anything else to tell us: There is nothing I would love more than to be able to work, be able to work, not live the depressing life I now live, not have to need all the help that I do need, but sadly I cannot change this. For the government to target people like me who are so vulnerable and in need of help is just beyond me!
