What happens to PIP after 64?

I'm new to this forum, but thanks for all the invaluable help. I'm part way through a PIP application and have been able to make an informed claim!
I'm 64 and have received DLA for 2 years. I can't find out what happens next year when I'm 65. If my PIP claim succeeded, would it just be paid til I'm 65? Then what happens; does all benefit stop? I've looked through forum headers and FAQs but don't see an answer and would welcome a pointer in the right direction! Many thanks.

A PIP award made before a claimant is 65 will continue in payment after they are 65 in exactly the same way as DLA does at the moment subject to future re-assessment.
The only exception to this is for claimants currently receiving DLA who are 65 or older by the time that they are invited to claim PIP, in this case the rules on claiming PIP after 65 will be disregarded and they will still be able to make a new claim.

As you know, I was well over 65 years of age when PIP was introduced. Unless I'm misunderstanding you there are no plans to ask those under 16 and over 65 to claim PIP, they will continue to receive DLA, unless there is a change in their circumstances, i.e. have more or less care and/or mobility needs.
Aged under 16
There's no change for Disability Living Allowance for children up to 16 years of age - this will continue until the child turns 16, when they will be invited to apply for PIP.
Aged 65 or over
If you were aged 65 or over on 8 April 2013, you'll continue to get Disability Living Allowance as long as you continue to meet the entitlement conditions, and will not need to claim Personal Independence Payment.

If the claimant reaches the age of 65 after 8 April 2013 they will still be 'invited' to claim PIP in due course, I believe.
