Which Part of My P45 Should I Send? was created by Meconopsis
My claim for Contribution based ESA ends soon so I am just about to send in my claim form for income based ESA. The form says I should send my P45 with it but I don't know which part they mean, or is it all of it? The P45 says in various places that I should keep it safe so I don't want to send in the wrong part and lose it. Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find that it was.

As far as I am aware you do not need to send the P45, in these particular circumstances, or any part of it to the DWP.

The P45 is normally used to simplify the transfer of tax information from one employer to another, as the DWP were the authority that issued the P45 they will already have a copy on their records.

Thanks for your answer, an advisor from the CAB told me to send parts 2 & 3 so I did. I'll just have to hope this doesn't mess anything up :(
