I currently get esa support group and dla. my question is if my parents give me money to buy a small flat, whereby I will be living, can they gift me money so that I can own my property to live in. At the same time, will I be still be able to claim ESA support group.

If you are receiving Contribution Based ESA then there will be no issue with your ESA.

If you are receiving Income Related ESA as a top-up to ESA(CB) or in whole, then it should be OK but I would still recommend that you get face to face advice before proceeding.

There are also potential Tax issues with gifting money to a child that you need to be aware of.

Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
