Moderator's note: 0800 0232635 is used by the DWP for outgoing calls to do with the WCA. Find out more about the WCA and the difference our guides can make here .

am already on ESA, am due a reassessment in march 2015, so am waiting for esa50 form in post in few weeks time. Got the above nu phoning me today, didn't leave message. just googled it and read lots of peps posts about nu.
1. is it about my esa reassessment?
2. Do i have to respond?
3. i never answer the phone, and they should know that.
4. will i just get the form sent soon?
5. Will my benefits get effected if i dont respond?
6. Could/should i write to dwp job centre that deals with my claim, say re phone call, ask what its about, say i dont answer phone, ask them to write to me about what its about? Would that be ok?
i do not wish to do my assessment over the phone. i have recently submitted supporting evidence on its own to job centre. could it be about that? i dont know what to do.
thanks

There are numerous reasons why the DWP might want to contact you, I am afraid it is impossible for us to guess why they are trying to contact you.

As a general rule, the DWP will follow up any attempt to phone by contacting the claimant in writing, so there should be no issue with you not speaking to them, nor will it in itself affect your benefits.

To be clear, ESA assessments cannot be done over the phone.
