Dear Forum. My DLA claim is due to expire at the end of September and I have been sent a new claim form for DLA not PIP. At the bottom of the form the identifier is DLA1A Adult January 2014. I have looked at the guide for download on the benefitsandwork website and it lists the form for January 2013. Apart from the colour at the top of the form do you know if there are any significant changes that I should be aware of between 2013 and 2014? Also, is it then likely I shall receive a PIP claim form in the next 6 to 12 months if this claim is successful? Thanks for your help. :( Brazik.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

There have been no recent changes to the DLA legislation so there should be no issue with the form reference number not matching the guides.

Please make sure that you complete the form in detail and ensure it's return to DWP by the date required. We strongly recommend that you use a tracked postal delivery and confirm receipt with the DWP. We have had a number of members fail to do this and if you cannot show that your form was returned on time then your DLA will cease and you will have to make a new claim for PIP.

When you are asked to claim PIP will depend on your DLA renewal, if it is another fixed term award then it is most likely that you will be asked to claim PIP when this expires, if it is an indefinite award then it could be at any time after October of this year, under current plans, but we believe it likely that you would have at least a year on DLA, although we cannot confirm this.
