  now that the tory's have walked the election people on benefits are probably going to be hurt very badly. there are 12 billion of cuts to welfare benefits to come (maybe more) I see that there is a rumour that industrial injuries benefit @ reduced earnings may be looked at but it does not say if it will be for new claimants or for everyone, they are saying that the employer has to pay it out instead of the government. but I worked for british coal so that industry is almost extinct.

At the moment these matters are nothing more than rumours, so I am afraid it is impossible for us to offer any advice.

I, too, am in receipt of Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit. I think it's a case of wait and see. However, if you are already receiving this benefit from the Government, I cannot see how they can turn around and expect your previous employer to now foot the bill. My railway related injury happened ten plus years ago and doubt whether the company I worked for have retained any of my work records.
