How soon can you hear about pip?

I sent my pip form on 14/12/2015
And I got text on 18/12/2015 that they received my form.
And I'm still waiting to hear from them:
I know there was holiday and new year:
Could you guys tell me how soon you heard about pip decision?
I'm getting nervous everyday, get scared if I would see brown envelope every morning.
Or has anyone claim pip around December 2015,if anyone heard about it?!
Thank you very much.

Hi A,
Although you obviously have to take the Xmas/NY Holidays into account, the vast majority of our members are receiving an appointment for a face to face, where one is deemed necessary, around a fortnight after returning their PIP 2 Forms.
You could contact your PIP Assessment Provider (AP), ATOS or Capita and check that they have it.
ATOS PIP Contact, top right of page.
Or
Contact Capita.
There is the possibility that The AP has made a paper based assessment and sent your file back to the DWP PIP DM to make the final decision.
That being the case, you need to contact DWP :
The PIP Helpline :
Telephone: 0345 850 3322
Textphone: 0345 601 6677
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm

When I saw reply,I got panicked, called pip.
The guy was bit aggressive and rude.
I didn't understand what he meant
And I got panic and mumbling,
Then he didn't try to explain to me, just wanna hang up again again which find me harder to talk.
Anyway, I was told, I sent all evidences they thought that's all they needed. It's on decision maker's hand.
It doesn't mean anything yet , either good or bad.
But I'm relieved I didn't lose any letter from them or needed to go through medical assessment.
Another nervous time for next 3-6weeks.
Wish me luck

Hi A,
O.K., so the AP have made a paper based assessment and returned your file to the DWP.
As you have stated, this does not give any indication of what the DWP PIP DM's decision will be.
I would give it a week or so then ring the DWP PIP Helpline for an update.
Good Luck !!

Bro58 you said for Alice to ring after a week. Will they actually give out details of if an award of PIP has been granted over the phone and if so in how much detail? Thanks.

If the award is on the system and a letter on the way they might just say what benefit you have been awarded ie lower or higher rate care/mobility. The detail will be in the letter.
Or they might just say a letter is in the post and you will have to wait for it to see what it says.
