Pensioners 66 years and below, and on lifetime DLA was created by Lesley Barrett
I am 66 this year and have been a pensioner on a basic pension for nearly 6 years, since this fiasco has begun i have worried incessantly, i have an autoimmune disease and stressed makes me very ill, I have Hashimotos disease, tested positive for Sjorgrens syndrome, Scarring alopecia, Raynards, Gerd, diverticulitis, LI fracture in my spine and broke my pelvis symphasis, leaving me with nerve damage and a misaligned pelvis. Have metal plates in my ankle. Chronic fatigue. Now have tremors and being tested for Parkinson’s of which I have 2 markers but need a 3rd for a definitive diagnosis, scarring alopecia. Memory fog, arthritis in hands and much more. I also have a letter from my consultant and will get more from my other ones. And I live alone totally as family are miles away. I was given life time DLA and on a support group, 6 years ago. What are my chances of having to fight for having all I have reinstated? I feel very worried and any joy has gone from my life which has been torturous anyway, and I get flares when I am frightened or nervous. The horror stories people tell me frighten me so much, I have a car with a hoist and a scooter kept in it. Without It i would have no escape. And it is expensive, I have to buy incontinent things as my bowels and bladder doesn’t function properly because of back problems. And feet done monthly, have to buy special medical things as doctors now have a budgit and wont stretch it to creams for feet, these cost £ 9month just for that. Hair washed and cut as I am unable to do this myself. I have 2 very old dogs that now are costing me for medicines, 16 and 14 yrs old, do I get rid of them? Extra heating because of circulatory problems. So much I need. I have paid on here 2 year now, as just renewed again. I read a lot on here but all seem younger, and on ESA. I feel a burden on society and that I am no longer useful so now considered obsolete. I guess what I really need is some comforting assurance and words. Also is anyone else in this situation and age group?

Welcome to the forum.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I can understand your concerns, but things may not be as bad as they seem, forums like B&W are filled with people who are having problems with their benefits but this is not the real situation! The reality is that the majority of claims are processed professionally and the claimant receives the award they deserve, these people rarely post about their experience.
In regard to ESA, from your post this should not be a problem as you cannot receive it and the State Pension which I would expect you to be now receiving.
Your DLA will be transferred to PIP at some time over the next two to three years, we can't say when as claimants are being chosen at random. Have a look at our PIP Claim guide for more information and if you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hi and welcome
I feel touched my your post and can relate to the worries you have - easy to say but try not to worry too much and use this forum to help you be successful in securing the support you clearly deserve from reading your story. It is not easy I know but if you can use this forum to help you complete your PIP form when your time comes I am sure you will get the help you need.
Best wishes and take care
