Significant discomfort ? was created by junemason1973@ms
Hi, Could someone possibly clarify the meaning of " significant discomfort" regarding ESA and walking?
Does it mean pain or can it include other symptoms?

I have great difficulty walking and I do have pain when walking , but my main problem is a loss of feeling in my legs due to nerve issues and I get progressively worse as I walk. This leaves me having no other option other than to stop walking and hold onto something or sit down..or otherwise fall down .. ...I walk very slowly, taking baby steps with support from my partner....although I can also use a walking stick it is of limited help due to also having loss of feeling in my hands and I cannot support my weight.

I'm afraid the phrase is not defined, although it is less than significant pain.

You are not required to complete the ESA activities without pain , however any pain that prevents your from completing an activity or interrupts your ability to do so, should be taken into account and this is possibly the best definition of significant discomfort that you'll get.
