I am now due a second hip replacement at the end of September I was given an appointment for a medical assessment which they cancelled as I was unable to walk up or down stairs (their offices on the first floor) This is now booked in at the end of August. Today I have received a letter with an appointment for a work-focused interview. This seems a bit daft as i will be going into hospital for my op three weeks after the interview and will not be capable to work for 6 weeks after this date. Is it reasonable for me to call them and tell them this is a waste of their time and mine?
You an certainly call them but they may not accept your reasons for not attending, but you have nothing to lose by trying.

Just called them and they said it was a voluntary appointment as I have not had my medical assessment yet.
