Jane wrote: Hi, I am trying to transfer from dla to pip. I filled out my form in July. Atos got in contact with an appointment in August , I rang them to say I preferred a home appointment due to anxiety, etc. I got a letter a few days later, confirming that a home visit would take place on 7th sept. The Atos assessor arrived at my home last Wednesday and spent an hour and a half with me. She went off at which point I phoned Dwp to ask how long it would take to receive that report. They said normally one to two weeks. They received it and sent me a text within 2 days....is that normal? Is there any indication as to whether that report is good or bad, having arrived at Dwp so quickly? Thankyou in advance for any help.
Assessors are required to complete their report as soon after the assessment as reasonably possible, so I would actually expect the DWP to have received a copy within a couple of days, not a couple of weeks, the only exception to this would be if the report was chosen (at random) for audit.
So I would not read anything in to the text.

Jane wrote: Thankyou Gordon for your response. I received my copy of the the assessors report today. Based on the points system on this site I scored 18 for mobility and 15 for care. She did write at the end of her report ... She has suffered with her mental health and chronic back pain for some years and change would be unlikely....would that comment enable me to get pip for a longer period of time do you think? Thankyou
Decision Makers usually follow the scoring of the assessor and almost always the recommendation for award length, if the report says "unlikely to improve in the long term" then this would suggest a longer term is likely.

Jane wrote: Thankyou Gordon, sorry for all the questions, I'm new here and not too sure what to expect from pip. I was told last week I would get a decision in 1 to 2 weeks, someone else has said 5 to 6 weeks and another today said 2 to 4 weeks...so not sure when I will get the decision...confusing
Based on what we are seeing in the forum, PIP Decisions are currently taking 7-8 weeks.
