Strange letter from DWP re: past ESA rates. was created by Happypants
I received a letter today from the DWP regarding "Your claim for ESA: Changes in the ESA rates payable."
It was the usual wording - "We've looked at your claim again following a recent change". (I can only presume this is the fact that my PIP is continuing following acceptance of my review form).
It then goes on to detail my ESA rates from 2013, 2014 and 2015. All of which of course have been and gone. The rest of the letter continues as if this was a current thing, so, "we will pay your money every two weeks..." etc.
The very last page "Your ESA award breakdown" details my award from 2013! It's not even up to date!
Does anyone have any idea what this means and why they would send this??

Hi Lynn,
I'm afraid this is a new one to me!

Hi Lynn,
I received the very same letter at the beginning of the year, I contacted the DWP and they could not give me a reason as to why I was sent the letter

Sounds like a mistake Lynn
I would ring them and ask them why they are writing to you about 2013.
If you cannot get through send a quick letter and hope you get a reply LOL

Thanks, All, for your replies. I did ring the DWP and the woman I spoke to said this does happen from time to time if they need to go into your account to correct errors or if there's a query of some kind. She said she didn't have access to exactly what the issue was, but I could disregard the letter as it was, essentially, meaningless.
I can only presume it was something to do with the fact that my PIP has been awarded for another three years and they were faffing about for some reason relating to that. Who knows??
Thanks again!
