Confused wrote: Four years ago I was turned down for ESA and DLA. Following an appeal I was granted both. I received a form to complete in June and have just been told I need to go for an assessment at the same place where I was turned down. I have limited mobility and there is no place to stop or park outside the centre. It was brought up to me last time that I'd managed to walk there from the car park and I know it will be again. I stated on the form that I have limited mobility and I have a blue badge. I can't use a wheelchair myself and my daughter, who is my carer, does not have the strength to push me. I'm really worried about this because of the lies told by the assessor last time. Are you able to give any advice please?
You can ask for a home assessment if your GP is willing to provide a letter explaining why you cannot attend at their offices, even if still denied you may be able to get them to pay for a taxi door to door.

If this is definitely DLA and not PIP, am I right in recalling that medical assessments are still not compulsory? I know from personal experience that in late 2012 that ATOS assessments were not enforceable. Although the DWP then refused DLA, it was mainly on the grounds I'd not attended the assessment. Of course, that meant the DWP took their eye of just about everything else, thus making the appeal much easier (it was successful).

I suspect this is for PIP not DLA even though Confused has not mentioned this.
