This is a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway: how long does the MR take? I am currently drafting a letter with my points of contention, will I hear within a week or two of them receiving the letter or is this department like all other government departments and be a month or more?

There is no time limit for the MR, we hear of some completed within days while others can take a few months.
