Anyone had a sucessful ESA50 without GP letter? was created by neptune1980
Hello all
Hoping someone can help.
I am just wondering if anyone had ever submitted an ESA50 and been put in the support group without any evidence from their GP and been sucessful? As I have a new GP and wrote me a letter but basically said as I was new to the surgery they cant comment on my current conditions but can see from my notes I was diagnoised with x y and z.
I do have other medical evidence from specialists. I am just wondering wether it would be better to leave out my GPs letter or to still include it?
What are peoples thoughts?
Thanks in Advance!!!

I don't think it is harmful, but obviously it is not helpful especially if you have others letter that confirm the conditions you have.
I can't say to leave it out, that has to be your decision, but you should certainly consider whether it dilutes the message you are trying to create in regard your problems.

Thanks for the reply.
The other evidence I have is very supportive and powerful. Then theres the GP letter which is not supportive or helpful with words such as "he ha requested a brief letter from his GPs to outline his conditions" and "he has only attended the surgery once since registration in 2015" and "I can not make comment on his current conditions"
But the GP says "he was diagnosed with x y and z in xxx year and it appears these symptoms are chronic and severly affect his function"
The only helpful part is the part the GP mentioned the last part.

Hi, I was placed in the support group for 18 months with no supporting evidence from my GP, on reading the assessors report this was because I was awaiting counselling, and the he said there was a long wait for this, but I did not have any evidence saying I had been referred, it was just what I told him. Hope that helps good luck
