ESA Support group success was created by Elidor
I have recently been awarded ESA and placed in the Support Group after attending a medical assessment.

However in the letter I received there was no mention of how long I had been awarded ESA for. Is this usual or are people normally told when they are likely to be reviewed?

I'm wondering if its worth contacting the DWP to ask them how long I have been awarded it for rather than getting an unexpected letter stating i need to go for another medical with no fore warning which would throw me into a state of panic.

Also wondering if its worth getting a copy of the medical assessors report if I might need it in the future.

I would be grateful for all comments about this. Thankyou.

ESA is an indefinite award with regular reassessment.

If you contact the DWP dealing with your claim they should be able to tell you when your claim is likely to be looked at again, they can also send you a copy of your assessment report.
