dla to pip was created by mike
Hi,
As I was born in 1950 I missed out in keeping my dla mc and hm and will instead have to apply for pip assessment when "invited".
Are there any encouraging figures for success rates for claimants over 67 years of age now on transferring over to pip or am I likely to be refused.
I suffer from cervical spondylosis and myolepathy at C4, 5,6 and 7, and experience difficulty with upper limb strength and movement and lower limb weakness and bladder difficulties.
Mike.

Hi m,
Welcome to Benefits and Work Forum
We do not have any figures on the particular DLA to PIP success rates for over 65 year olds.
You will be assessed for PIP much the same as anyone else.
You should take on-board that PIP qualifying criteria is much stricter than that of DLA, especially for the Mobility Component.
If you happen to lose your Mobility award on transferring to PIP, after exhausting all your appeal rights, you could not make a fresh claim for PIP Mobility.
If you fail to gain any PIP award at all after exhausting all your appeal rights, as you will be over 65, you could make a claim for Attendance Allowance (AA), but this does not include a Mobility component.
In preparation for your "invite" to claim PIP, have a look at the following :

PIP Self Test
