I've been receiving contribution based ESA since June last year. I'm still in the assessment phase. Was agreed in October last year that I could have a home visit but despite calling them every few weeks I still do not have a date for this. I'm eligible for income based ESA, would I automatically be transferred to this once my contribution base ends in June? Or do I need to apply for this seperately? Or do i just wait for my assessment?
I'm just getting worried as its not far off now and also as changes to the rates of ESA came into play from April 3rd and wondered if I'd be affected by those? I'm hopeful that I'd be assessed as needing to go into the support group but if I was seen as eligible only for the Work related group then would the previous weekly rates apply for me or the new ones?
Hope this makes sense, any advice would be much appreciated!
Currently having to put in an appeal for pip decision and finding it all highly stressful and struggling to find the energy to focus on either at the moment.
The DWP should contact you, but you will need to complete an ESA3 with details of your financial circumstances, the process should only take a couple of weeks. If they haven't contacted you by the end of the month then I would chase the DWP office dealing with your claim.
The change to WRAG payments only applies to claim made after 3 April.
