After breaking my neck in 2009 and have arthritis I rely on my husband for help. I'm able to walk but have health problems, I'm on DLA indefinitely but I am now 68 and find my tolerance to some of my pain relief not good so often have to cope but it gives me limitations. I'm afraid to reapply in case they take my benefits from me but the extra money would really help us. I'm not a confident person and shy away from going into situations I'm unsure of. Is there anyone else out there with similar problems. Ruthy
If you were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 (UK mainland), then notifying the DWP of a change of condition will result in your being invited to claim PIP.
If you were 65 or over on the above date, then you can ask to have your DLA reassessed, but you cannot receive an increased Mobility award if you currently have one, or any award of Mobility if you do not have a current award.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
