I get PIP (enhanced daily living rate), Severe Disability Premium, and ESA income based (Support group). My partner has has asked me to move in with him. He is a pensioner, he gets an Enhanced Pension and he has a pension fund of approx £80,000 which he can take bi-annual draw downs and pay tax on. I am wondering if we will be much worse off as a couple if we do this. I assume I will lose some of my benefits. Would he be able to claim carers allowance for me, he does care for me on a daily basis. Advise please?
Get face to face advice, your circumstances are too complicated for me to give any real indication of how your benefits would be affected. Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
At the least I would expect you to lose the SDP as you will no longer be living alone, if he is receiving the State Pension then whilst he can claim CA for you it will not be paid.
