PIP appeal was created by Pam
I have been on DLA for many years. I lost my DLA during the transfer to PIP. When I found out that my application had been turned down it felt like somebody told me that I was dead. My whole life depends on the use of my Motability car. I will be absolutely housebound without my car. I am soooo worried about what is going to happen. I requested Mandatory Reconsideration and the decision stayed the same. I don't think my long letter explaining the issue was even looked at. I am now going to appeal (am aware of the timescale) but I don't know how long the appeal process could take from the time you ask for it. I would appreciate any information you could share with me on this. Many thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

There is some variability in waiting times for Tribunals, the average is probably 3-4 month but there are some areas such as the SW where times are a lot longer and it could easily be 9 months.
MR revision rates are very low and it usually requires for there to be a fundamental issues with the assessment for the Decision to be updated, rates at appeal are significantly higher and there is a lot less emphasis placed on the assessor's report.

Thanks for your reply. You have said that there is less emphasis placed at the appeap on the assessor's report , does that mean there will be more emphasis on my grounds for appean and any evidence submitted? Thanks

Yes the panel should look at all of the evidence equally.
