Distance to assessment was created by Fran72
Hello I've received my appointment for my assessment but there's no way I can go!! I live in Derby and the assessment is in Leicester!! I suffer with severe anxiety and panic when going to somewhere I don't know ( hence why I never go outside ten miles radius) it's making me ill thinking about it. Can they arrange it closer to home

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

You can move the appointment once, phone the Assessment Provider and rearrange it for a more suitable venue while you are on the call.
You must attend this new appointment whenever and wherever it is or you risk your claim being closed by the DWP.

There seems to be no logic applied when it comes to deciding on where an assessment will be held. I had a 26.5 mile journey to mine, even though there is a an assessment centre less than 4 miles away. They really have a us over a barrel, because asking for an appointment at a closer centre won't necessarily get you one and you are only allowed to re-arrange the appointment once.
