Pip reconsideration was created by Gooby
I have put in a mandatory reconsideration for PIP. Can I ask if I am successful do they repay back to when I put my claim in? Initially I was only awarded low care but have sent information as to why I feel it needed to be looked at again. I was not awarded any mobility but have an anxiety disorder where I can not go out without another person due to panic. They stated I had no evidence of this anxiety as not on medication and not on treatment. My response was I have been on medication and have had therapy however due to heart condition I can no longer take anxiety medication. I also sent a letter from GP verifying this information. My first application went in middle of February 2017. First time I've claimed on advice from heart specialist nurse. Any views on how I have managed this reconsideration or have I missed something important. Thanks

Yes if an increased award is made then it will be backdated to when the original Decision was made.

There is only one technique to winning an MR or appeal and that is to show that you meet the criteria for the award, dealing with the issues raised during the assessment is important but should be a secondary activity.

So explaining why you do not receive treatment for your anxiety is definitely something to do, but go over what you included in the PIP2 to make sure that you have thoroughly explain why cannot undertake any journey and what symptoms you would suffer if asked to do so.
