Thanks Gordon - I've reread your reply and I think I now understand it. My daughter should have enough NI contributions and credits to qualify for ESA if she has to reapply next year. I'm still wondering, though, if someone has been put in the ESA (CB) support group for, say 2 years, and if, at the end of that time they are still assessed as unfit for work, can they be put back into the support group and continue to receive ESA?
