ESA and Disability Premium was created by Kimbychick
Hi,

My dad is in the esa support group (IR). He has recently been awared PIP daily living. He is now entitled to severe disability premium on top. I thought he would have got both disability premium plus severe disability premium. I am on income support and I recieve both of the premiums together since getting PIP.

I am just unsure and was looking for someone to put me right.

Thank you.

The Disability Premium is not paid with ESA, it is replaced by either the WRAG or Support Group component.

Providing your father lives alone, or is considered as living alone and no one receives Carers Allowance for looking after him then he should be eligible for SDP, this would be paid in addition to the Enhanced Disability Premium which he should already be receiving for being in the SG.

He needs to contact the DWP office dealing with his ESA to have the premium added.
