ESA renewal was created by marnie
I am in ESA support group for 3 years and think I am due for reassessment any time now. I have never had a medical nor for PIP.
I remember a recent post about WCA causing harm to the claimant. I have robust medical evidence and the health professionals who look after me have said most emphatically that a medical will be severely detrimental to my health. It is not a matter of having a companion with me or a home visit I cannot do it. It will be impossible for me to cope with. I contacted EHRC and was told DWP should not cause harm and should do a documentary assessment.
I am upset already at the thought of this whole process and I just wanted to know if there is anything else I should do?
My GP is unhelpful but I have a lot of support from my consultant/nurse.
Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You can contact the DWP office dealing with your claim to find out when you will be reassessed.
You will need the support of your GP or Consultant, they need to write to Maximus, the Assessment Provider for ESA explain the harm you would come to if asked to attend a face to face assessment, it is important that their letter does not include any doubt of the harm, so a phrase like; "may suffer..." or "could suffer..." will not be helpful.
If you still have problems then involve your MP.

My supporting evidence always says - "having a face to face assessment would be detrimental to her mental health, causing overwhelming psychological distress and likely to cause relapse increasing suicide risk." This seems to be enough so far - what do you think?
Thanks

In principle yes, providing you don go out for other reasons such as shopping or GP or hospital visits, if it is a problem then try involving your MP.
