I put in an FOI request to the DWP following my wife’s “0” score on her PIP application although applying from highest levels of DLA for both care and mobility.
The response from the DWP contained this sentence (and I quote): “the PIP assessment process is not a medical assessment.”
I find that an amazing statement for a process that is supposed to establish how disabled people are?

But I have it in writing from the DWP!!
I hope you will forgive me but I don't believe the DWP have ever portrayed it in this way, I know we never have.
It's a functional assessment of the claimants ability to reliably complete a range of defined activities on the majority of days.
