I now need to dress him in the mornings and he cannot do much until his pain relief has kicked in, he is on tramadol and m.s.t. I would be very grateful for any advise you could give me as I am at my witts end and it is causing arguments between us we are that stressed. thank you all in advance.

I'm sorry but this is a decision that only you and your husband can make.
The PIP transfer process is running late and is not now expected to complete before late next year and even this date seems optimistic. Claimants are being chosen at random so he could be invited tomorrow or in a couple of years.
The criteria for PIP is very different from DLA so I would advise you to read our PIP Claim guide to help you decide whether to contact the DWP, please be harsh with your marking as those assessing your husband will be.

If you reasonably think that he would receive a higher award under PIP then then write to the DWP office dealing with his DLA claim notifying them of a Change of Circumstances due to a worsened condition.

thank you for your reply, I will read the guide then decide what to do, but could I ask, my husband will be 65 in January 2019 so if he is not asked to make a claim for pip by then, do you no weather he will be still allowed to go on it, as it states you must be between 16-64 it is all so confusing and we just don't no what to do. thank you.

No, I'm afraid he will still be invited to claim even if he is over 65 at the time.

The legislation controlling the transfer takes this situation into account.
