My son had a medical face to face just after Christmas for ESA and has remained in the support group. He has autism. I am waitIng for him to get called on to claim PIP, he's currently getting DLA. Will he need to have another medical assessment or are they likely to use the report from his ESA one as it was so recent. I am asking because the last one stressed him out so badly he lost over half a stone in weight and couldn't eat or sleep worrying about it.

I'm afraid, whilst an ESA report may be used to help make a Decision on a PIP claim it cannot substitute for a face to face assessment so it is very likely that he will be required to have one when invited to claim PIP.
