been a member of benefits and work since around 2012 and the guides of been indispensable, so thank you to everyone who puts those together. I am planning to move from York to Manchester in the near future via mutual exchange. I thought before undertaking this it was important to research universal credit as that has been rolled out in Manchester. Can anyone on here give me any advice or point me in the direction of a guide or more detailed advice on the whole process and how it may affect me, please? I have looked on Manchester City Council's website and they link to the guv.uk website does have some information on it but I know there's gonna be a lot more to it from experience.
Universal Credit will only affect you if you need to make a new claim for one of the benefits that come under the UC umbrella, for example; Housing Benefit. If you do then any Income Related Benefits such as ESA(IR) will also be moved to UC, if not then any IR benefits will remain in payment until they are migrated to UC starting next year (if then).
