DWP ESA (CB) review, PIP and future UC implication was created by p.o.m.frite
I am one of the people receiving ESA (CB) having previously been on IB (CB) and then transferred in 2012.

The DWP have been sent me an ESA3(IBR) 06/18 form to fill in for the review regarding premiums.

If I am awarded any premium in this process (I believe I will be for my current PIP award and I have had no other other income or significant savings during the entire review period) then do I get transferred onto ESA (IR) and therefore then lose any on-going entitlement to ESA (CB)?

When the UC transfer happens what would be the case for ESA (CB) in the transfer as opposed to ESA (IR) which is under UC?

I am trying to understand the longer-term financial implications of the two outcomes. With ESA (CB) there is maybe a little security still but with UC it seems bets are off.

You won't be moved to ESA(IR) your remain entitled to ESA(CB) as long as your claim is continuous, you will receive an ESA(IR) top-up to your existing ESA(CB) payments.

If you are receiving any ESA(IR) then this will be transferred to UC when claimants are migrated, although this will be some time, it's not clear what will happen to ESA(CB) and whether this will be moved to New Style ESA which is the UC equivalent of ESA(CB).
