How can I explain I restrict washing and bathing to once per week, because of pain and fatigue, symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, therefore, prefer having to bear these symptoms once per week ? I’ve burnt my feet on occasion because they are now numb ( and stiff ) ; symptoms of RA, in getting into the bath. The reason why I prefer to lie down in the bath because my joints benefit from lying immersed in warm water + I’m unable to stand comfortably under the shower ( have shower over bath ). They ask how I manage at the moment and problems have when can’t do this activity ? ( why I only bath once per week , I don’t strip wash in between ) Does this include stepping into the bath by using basin adjacent to bath ? Don’t bother washing legs and back = can’t reach without pain . Wash my hair on knees holding head under running bath tap , as less painful , have lever taps as no gripping required.
Does all this sound ok and award me points - I’m worried taking a bath instead of showering shan’t award me any points , despite once per week. Many Thanks, J.

Showering and bathing are treated equally so it is why you cannot bathe more frequently than once a week that needs to be explained. All I can suggest is that you explain how your RA, etc. limits your ability to do this and specifically why it is only weekly and not a shorter period.
