No, your ESA will not be affected.

I was surprised to see this I am on non-contributions based ESA, support group, and higher rate care & mobility DLA. My husband was my carer and when he started getting carers allowance we lost most of it from our means-tested benefits (Income Support I think at that time). He died in 2017 and no-one now claims carers allowance for me although I rely heavily on my sister to help me out. I understood that if she claimed carers allowance I would lose it from my ESA. Am I wrong or is it different because I am on the non-contributory version of ESA?

Unless I have misread Bilbo's post they are only receiving Contribution Based ESA so this would be different from your Income Related ESA.
For your sister claiming CA to affect your ESA(IR) you would need to be receiving the Severe Disability Premium, this appears as "money because you are severely disabled" on your ESA payment letters.
The SD Premium is not payable if someone claims CA against your DLA.

Thanks, thats what I thought . I get the SD premium with my ESA, so I would lose that if my sister claimed Carers Allowance, which I dont think she could at the moment anyway as she works 2 nights per week. At one time she hoped she could reduce her hours and make up some of the income by claiming Carers allowance but when she found out it would come off my money she gave up that idea.
As the SD is almost the same as the CA it seems it would be simpler just to give her the money myself rather than mess about with more DWP forms, especially as the carer 'NI credits' are a con - when my husband died I discovered his NI credits dont count towards bereavement benefits any more, they are NOT equivalent to NI contributions (a change that mostly affects disabled widows or other families with a disabled member who have lost their main carer!)
