Vehicle road tax - PIP mobility was created by Lynn
Hello
I hope someone will be able to give me advice.
My husband has just been awarded higher rate mobility pip and is as a result is now eligible to claim for / exemption from road tax.
We have not long paid for a full years' tax on our car, just two weeks ago.
Can we get a refund from dvla? If so, how would we go about doing so?
Many thanks.

We successfully claimed a refund on my sons car tax when he got higher rate pip. He doesn’t have a blue badge but he was eligible for free car tax because of the pip. Would have been
50% off if he got the lower mobility pip rate.. It was a bit of a palaver and at one point we had to take some paperwork to the Post Office who insisted that he came in person to sign the forms...rather ignoring the key point that he has mobility problems!
Afraid I can’t remember the details of exactly how we did it...just wanted to send you encouragement to look it up and pursue the claim. It can be done! Though do read the rules carefully about who can use the car.
